DESCRIPTION:
Cold cuts are precooked, cured sliced meats and they have been around since the 17th Century.
First created by the Ivan and Petar Gavrilovic, these meats withstood time and became a favorite of the military. Cold cuts include bologna, salami, pastrami, head cheese, liverwurst, olive loaf and a host of other meats including turkey, beef, chicken, pork and a combination of these.
This unofficial event occurs each year. Many delis and sandwich shops will run specials in celebration.
The best way to celebrate? Enjoy some cold cuts.
