DESCRIPTION:
National Candy Cane Day occurs on the second day of Christmastide.
It celebrates the birth of Christ and the shepherd’s crook-shaped candy that has become synonymous with the event, the candy cane. The candy cane was created in 1670 by the choirmaster of the Cologne Cathedral in Germany. Today, the Cologne Cathedral is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
