National Flitch Day honors an English tradition performed by monks since 1104 AD. Monks would offer a side of bacon (flitch) to any married couple who could reaffirm their vows to each other in marriage.
This beautiful British tradition reminds couples about the sanctity of marriage and the importance of staying faithful, thus permitting the team to "bring home the bacon," literally!
