DESCRIPTION:
Lead poisoning continues to be a severe problem, especially in older buildings where paint peels and children often eat it. It can also be present in the dust and inhaled, in soil, water and air. Working with batteries is the most common way adults are exposed.
Lead poisoning leads to mental and physical development problems, especially in children under six, it can be fatal. International Lead Poisoning Week of Action is a global call to remove the sources of lead poisoning and educate the public about its dangers and prevention.
