Created by the late Peggy Shirley, The Duchess Who Wasn't Day honors Irish novelist Margaret Wolfe Hungerford who wrote under the pen name of 'The Duchess'. The Duchess is also the title of her most popular novel.
Hungerford was born August 27, 1850 in County Cork, Ireland. She would go on to write over 40 novels in her lifetime. She died in 1897.
