National Peach Pie Day celebrates the peach pie, which is made with sugar, cinnamon, butter and peaches, then covered in a flaky crust.
Harvested between June and August, there are two common varieties of peaches, the Clingstone and the Freestone.
National Peach Pie day is celebrated across the country in restaurants. The Washington House in Sellersville, Pennsylvania promotes this day with free mini peach pies to those with reservations.
