There are two groups of people claiming Rawgust: Vegans and their opposites, raw food proponents for pets (i.e. real meat). In this case, the vegans are SOL. This event was created by natural food for pets advocate CATalyst Council, which encourages pet parents to feed their animals a natural diet like they would have in the wild of real meat, (or veggies if herbivores, which vegans would approve). Yes, pet food manufacturers do endeavor to create replacement foods that provide full nutrition for pets, but natural and real is always better than manufactured. Enjoy Rawgust, no matter how you celebrate.
