DESCRIPTION:
National Estuaries Week raises awareness of the importance of estuaries (wetlands where freshwater rivers meet the ocean) and allows people to be more responsible for these natural resources.
Established in 1988 as a single day, National Estuaries Week expanded to a week. There are exhibits, estuary tours, and festivals throughout the country.
