The videocassette recorder (VCR) allowed people to record and play their movies at home without a projector.
The (VCR) changed movie viewing by families. Introduced in 1956, the VCR was further developed in 1970. The VCR remained a key component of entertainment systems through the 1990s. It was replaced by DVD players, which were soon replaced by DVR systems.
VCR technology involves having a mechanical device that records sound and images in analog form on a video cassette. Convenience was its greatest asset as it can be paused and played again anytime wanted.
