International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation, also referred to as FGM/C Day, marks the anniversary of Nigeria's First Lady Stella Obasanjo's declaration on "Zero Tolerance to FGM" in Africa.
She made this declaration during a conference organized by the Inter-African Committee on Traditional Practices Affecting the Health of Women and Children (IAC) on February 6, 2003.
