World Cancer Day is a chance to raise collective voices to improve the general knowledge about cancer and dismiss misconceptions about the disease. At a global level, the event focuses on messaging relating to the four myths:
FOUR MYTHS OF CANCER
1) We Don’t Need to Talk About Cancer
2) Cancer Has No Signs or Symptoms
3) There Is Nothing I Can Do About Cancer
4) I Don’t Have a Right To Cancer Care
In addition to aligning with global advocacy goals, these overarching myths leave a lot of flexibility for members, partners, and supporters to adapt and expand on their needs.
