Saint Piran's Day in the United Kingdom is celebrated every year on March 5th as the National Day of Cornwall.
Saint Piran is famed for the discovery of tin. Origins of this holiday date back to the late 19th century and early 20th century. Feasting in its honor is a long held tradition.
Modern celebrations in many towns and cities consist of parades, festivals with singing and Cornish music and processions through the streets.
