Peace Corps National Day of Action raises awareness of the Peace Corps and lobbies for funding and support from the US Congress. It falls during National Peace Corps Week on the anniversary of President Kennedy's founding of the Peace Corps on March 1, 1961. This event is observed annually on the first Tuesday of March.
