National Overdose Awareness Week occurs during the week of International Overdose Day and is declared by the President each year.
More than 93,000 drug overdose deaths occurred in the United States in 2020. This week is a strong response to America’s overdose epidemic and an investment in prevention, diversion, harm reduction, treatment, and recovery services.
