September is National Alcohol & Drug Addiction Recovery Month, designed to educate people about substance abuse treatment and mental health services available.
This event began as 'Treatment Works! Month' in 1989 to honor professionals in the substance abuse industries. Later, the month became known as National Recovery Month to include individuals who have overcome substance abuse.
