Approximately 1.8 million Americans are affected by Congenital Heart Defects (CHD), yet scant funds have been made available for research and cures. This week-long event is about bringing people together, sharing stories, and raising awareness so that someday in the not-too-distant future, CHD may be a thing of the past.
Participants include individuals, local support groups, national and regional organizations, and congenital cardiology centers worldwide.
By sharing our experiences and providing information, we hope to raise public awareness about conditions that affect approximately 40,000 babies each year in the United States alone.
