Each year the United Nations World Tourism Organization sponsors World Tourism Day. The theme changes yearly and is announced sometime in the summer. World Tourism Day is one of three tourism-specific events in the United States. The first week of May features National Travel & Tourism Week and Tourist Appreciation Day.
