DESCRIPTION:
One of the most significant events in Illinois, The Burgoo Festival honors the burgoo, a kind of stew made of carrots, potatoes, beef, celery, cabbage, onions, and peppers, cooked in an outdoor fire for 12-18 hours. It is an event that involves the entire community. Burgoo Festival also includes festival favorites such as homemade pies, antique markets, and concerts sponsored by the LaSalle County Historical Museums.
