DESCRIPTION:
In the Nanakshahi calendar of the Sikhs, Maghar is the ninth month, and in the Gregorian calendar, this falls between November and December.
Thirty days long, Maghar often begins on November 14 of the Gregorian calendar, and Sikhs go on a pilgrimage on the first day of Maghar.
The Nanakshahi calendar is based on the birth of Sikhi Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism.
