Here are some of the most prominent Black country music singers of today and yesteryear: —Charley Pride Pride is one of the most iconic Black country music artists ever. With hits like "Kiss an Angel Good Mornin'" and "Is Anybody Goin' to San Antone," Pride became the first Black country music superstar. He won the Country Music Association's (CMA) Entertainer of the Year award in 1971 and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2000. —Darius Rucker Rucker initially gained fame as the lead singer of the rock band Hootie & the Blowfish before launching a successful solo career in country music.
